Nicholas Winton, who amongst many things was knighted and lived to be 106, also saved 669 mostly Jewish children from the holocaust in 1939, on the eve of World War 2, by getting them to Britain.
He appeared on UK TV programme That's Life! in 1988, unaware that he was surrounded by people whose lives he'd saved all those years ago. He'd never told anyone he saved all these people; his wife simply found it one of his old scrapbooks, years later.
Watch the video. It's just beautiful.
