Homelessness is all the more important to be aware of at this time of year. A great piece on a man hauling his way out of the byzantine benefits system we have in the UK.
Arguably snobby, but I care not. Markets will lead what gets commissioned on TV, and this seems like a tiny triumph for quality. I'll take what I can get this year.

The excellent Good Ship will remain open
It may seem insignificant from an international perspective, but 2 very popular London venues - first Fabric in Farringdon and now The Good Ship in Kilburn - have been saved from closing.
London has suffered from a raft of venue closes as property prices continue to climb, and, despite the compromises mentioned in the deal, these venues surviving is good news.

Despite the 7.8 earthquake, at least some bloody bees (30,000!) were rescued by an excellent resident. So it's not all bad, eh?

Obviously all news is NOT good news. But there's enough terrible stuff going around the internet that I don't need to add to the throng.
